A Reel Cinema @ Home celebrates the time-honored Thanksgiving tradition of elastic pants, second helpings, and movie night. After a good meal and nap, it’s time to watch good movies.

Thanksgiving appears to be a forgotten holiday by major movie studios. Movies focusing specifically on Thanksgiving are hard to find. When film fans cannot find a good list of Thanksgiving movies, they are left with parades, dog shows, and endless hours of sports watching.

Home theater geeks and movie film nerds want to watch movies centered around families anticipating traveling, gathering, prepping, cooking, and eating the meal we all know as Thanksgiving dinner. There are many movies that have a “meal scene” for two or three minutes but the primary focus of the movie is not Thanksgiving. You will not find those movies on this list. A meal scene simply won’t do.

We enjoy Thanksgiving movies that show the craziness of family members gathering each year. We can always find one relatable crazy family member up on the screen. Why? We simply want to feel better about our families. You know what I mean. You watch the movie and think there is so much drama up on that screen “At least my family is not that bad.” Then you cook, gather, and enjoy your family that much more.

With movie theaters closed on Thanksgiving Day 2020 due to increased cases of coronavirus across the United States, the traditional Thanksgiving Day movie outing will be more affordable, cleaner, and safer right in your own home. We purchased traditional movie snacks from a big box warehouse to create a full concession stand. Now, we have the complete immersive movie experience at home.
