Epson 3500 Projector

A Reel Cinema @ Home currently uses the Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 3500 3D 3LCD Projector with our custom screen using Carl’s Place Flexi Gray material. Epson makes a decent home cinema projector that works beautifully. The 3LCD projection delivers a high-quality picture with sharp and amazing colors.

However, buyer beware that Epson’s customer service is HORRIBLE. Let me rephrase that so you know exactly how we feel about Epson’s customer service. We would rather pick lint off #45’s dusty, orange, saggy, collusion, impeachment balls before calling Epson for customer service again. Our experience with Epson’s customer service, the corporate Epson office staff, etc. was horrible in every way. When the time comes to upgrade, we assure you we will never buy another Epson projector.

Do yourself a favor and join us in giving Epson the middle finger. Please purchase another brand of projector. If you ever need to contact Epson for any reason, you will waste hours on the phone, their unprofessional staff will transfer you, transfer you, transfer you then redirect you to another department that transfers you again. Save yourself the trouble (if you can afford it) and purchase a Sony projector. If you cannot afford a Sony projector, purchase a BenQ. We have beer pockets and champagne dreams, so a Sony projector is out of our price range at the moment. Someday Sony – someday – but not today.

With that said, our main reasons for purchasing the Epson 3500 projector was its 3D capability and its great picture. The 3D feature performs wonderfully and included two pairs of rechargeable Epson Active 3D glasses. This projector also works great with our additional nine pair of Xpand Active RF 3D glasses.

The projector is very quiet, and the fan noise is not distracting. Even with ambient light in the room, the Epson 3500 and the Carl’s Place Flexi Gray do a wonderful job of maintaining the picture quality. The remote control is backlit which helps during movie playback. The projector menus are easy to navigate. The projector itself is easy to calibrate. We are able to adjust the lens up-and-down and left-to-right to obtain the perfect picture.

The only negative about this projector is the white color. We prefer a black projector to blend into the background of our room decor. The negative is not a negative – it’s a preference. The white color doesn’t affect performance. We can honestly say the Epson 3500 does exactly what it is supposed to do.

Again, the Epson brand is not worthy of your hard-earned dollars due to extremely poor customer service. A summary of the tech specs are listed below if you care to read them. I strongly suggest you purchase another brand:
