The Power Book II: Ghost series doesn’t end with Episode 110. Starz confirmed Power Book II: Ghost has been renewed for a second season. A second season is no surprise to A Reel Cinema At Home. This entire Power series is a bonafide hit. The Power series continues to build a loyal fan base by giving fans cliff hanging episodes every week.

TopWhat We Think About Power Book II: Ghost So Far

Power Book II: Ghost is the first in a series of spin-offs from the original show Power. The new series finds Tariq and his mother Tasha suffering the consequence of Tariq shooting his father, James St. Patrick (aka Ghost).

We must give our opinion on an endless controversy among Power fans. Is Ghost dead or alive? A Reel Cinema At Home does not believe Ghost is dead. Why? The entire premise was “Who Shot Ghost?” versus “Who Killed Ghost?” That’s a major difference. If Ghost was dead, why not say “Who Killed Ghost?” We believed Ghost (with help) faked his death to get out the drug game for good. Plus, Starz has not pronounced Ghost dead on their website.

The season finale of Power ended with Tasha being arrested then slow walked into jail for the murder of Ghost. While Tasha was being arrested, she strongly encouraged Tariq to “Go to school.”

The Power Book II: Ghost series starts with Tariq in college trying to earn a degree. A college degree and graduation with a 3.5 or above GPA is necessary for Tariq to receive the millions of dollars bequeath to him in his late father’s Final Will & Testament. If Tariq can graduate, the entire family will be financially secure.

The first five episodes show Tariq struggling to balance the rigorous coursework required of his admission to an elite, ivy league university. He is also required to “tutor” the schools star basketball player. Meaning Tariq completes all the essays and homework of the player so the player can get off academic probation. In addition Tariq, is dealing with the learning curve of maintaining a high-tech, drug dealing, software app.

Tariq endures an endless series of dramatic events. He hopes to raise enough money to pay a high-profile, expensive lawyer to defend his mother. He is also entangled with the violent Tejada family and in what could become a messy love triangle. The star basketball player Tariq is “tutoring” is a nephew in the Tejada family. Tariq’s responsibility plate is full of dangerous drama. He is playing a grown man’s game. We are excited to see his next series of moves.

We are also hyped the teaser trailer shows all the characters as chess pieces being destroyed with the headings “Make Your Move” and “No One Is Safe.” The teaser trailer lets us know any show character can get it. Based on how the characters are positioned on the chess board at the end, we know a few characters could rest in peace during the next five episodes.

The Power Universe continues with more spinoff series to fans delight. #powerneverends

Power Book III: Raising Kanan

Power Book III: Raising Kanan is a prequel sequel. Kanan’s character was killed off in the first Power series. Raising Kanan takes a trip down memory lane to the ‘90s to review the life and times of Kanan Stark. View the Raising Kanan Tease below:

Power Book IV: Force

Power Book IV: Force will be the fourth series in the Power Universe.

The character Tommy played by Joseph Sikora has been recognized as a fan-favorite. The series was moved up as a result. His hot temper, loyalty, and quick trigger finger make him feared and loved all in the same breath.

We last see Tommy putting New York in his rearview mirror headed to California as the block is too hot for Tommy in New York. Tommy is rumored to reappear in Power Book II: Ghost as Tasha has named him in court as the person who killed Ghost. Many fans wonder if Tommy will give Tasha another pass. He didn’t kill her the first time. Fans are wondering how my cat lives Tommy will allow Tasha to have.

Power Book V: Influence

Power Book V: Influence follows the character Councilman Rashad Tate in his quest for political power. Councilman Tate is played by the fine and sexy, actor Larenz Tate. Councilman Tate’s motto is “New York leads the way!”

Tate is attempting to become Governor of New York by any means necessary. Councilman Tate, a former shady police officer, seamlessly transitioned to a shady politician. Working in the councilmen’s favor is his ability to adjust and adapt to a changing political environment. Power fans wonder how far Councilman Tate will go to become Governor Tate.
