The holiday weekend makes this an exciting event for home theater fans. The Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones, Jr. exhibition boxing event is another reason for us to fire up our home theater projector. As we stay in our social distancing bubble, we are excited to see these two legends tape up and lace up.
We are always looking to add another party event to our #stayathome home theater plans. We detail our fight night watch party plans below. You will find everything from our party invitation to the food. Most importantly, all the details on how to watch the fight are below. We have done all the planning, so you don’t have to! You’re welcome.
We first learned about this exhibition fight through social media. A video of Mike Tyson practicing was viral on Twitter. The video is a must see. The power of Tyson’s punch at 54 years old is amazing. Mike is a beast!
Tyson and Jones fight for the WBC Frontline Battle Belt created by the Mike Tyson’s Legends Only League. Mike created the Legends Only League to showcase “senior” athletes through production and events. We know what happens when you put two legendary boxers both over the age of 50 in the same ring – HISTORY!
Iron Mike Tyson is currently 54 years old. His height is 5 feet 10 inches and his weight is 220 lbs. Even at the age of 54, Mike Tyson’s boxing skills are like riding a bike. Once you learn you can never forget. Tyson has one of the most forceful punches in heavyweight boxing history.
Mike Tyson is THE undisputed heavyweight world champion. His boxing record is 50 wins, 6 losses, and 44 knock outs. The youth of today didn’t get to witness Iron Mike in his prime. He is a knockout machine. Tyson holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA, and IBF world heavyweight titles. He was also the first heavyweight boxer to hold the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles simultaneously. Tyson was inducted into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2011.
Roy Jones, Jr. is currently 51 years old. His height is 5 feet 11 inches and his weight is 210 lbs. Roy Jones is a formidable opponent. He is a four-division world champion. Jones is also a former IBF middleweight, undisputed light heavyweight, and WBA heavyweight champion. His boxing record is 66 wins, 9 losses, and 44 knock outs.
Jones represented the United States in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. He won a silver medal. There was a lot of controversy with Jones losing to his Korean opponent. Jones was clearly the winner. Even Jones’ opponent stated so. All three Olympic judges voting against Jones were suspended. The judges were wined and dined by South Korean officials to get the results they wanted. Yeah! That really happened!
