We like our speakers just like we like our men – big, tall, black, sexy, and full of deep bass. When it comes to creating a home cinema, size does matter and bigger is better. These powerful floor standing speakers offer a clear tone for the serious home cinema enthusiast who is about that home theater life.
Klipsch speakers have the sexiness and swagger of Morris Chestnut and huge copper woofers radiates a sexy smile like Taye Diggs to anyone who enters our home theater. Klipsch Reference speakers throw sound like Aaron Rogers throws a football – hard, long, and deep! The speakers are showstoppers and make a fantastic first impression (even with the screens on) to family and friends.
Picking up our new 7.2 Klipsch speakers was a special moment for us so we filmed our excitement.
Our home theater room size is 10 x 15. Our current 7.2 setup overwhelms the room. The sound will shake everything off the wall if we turn the volume more than 1/8 of the way. The speakers are designed for a bigger space. We plan to do something about that real soon (we’re moving). From the beginning of our cinema planning, we knew we wanted floor speakers instead of built-ins because we are not in our forever home. When we move, our entire home cinema setup will move with us.
Our current 7.2 speaker configuration consists of the following:
The 7:
We have four (4) Klipsch Reference Dual 8 Floor Standing Speakers – Black (Model: R-28F). The four speakers are positioned in the front-left, front-right, rear-right, and rear-left.
We also have two (2) Klipsch Reference Dual 6.5 Floor Standing Speakers – Black (Model: R-26F). They serve as our side-left and side-right surround sound speakers.
We have one (1) Klipsch Reference Dual 5 1/4″ Center-Channel Speakers – Black (Model: R-25C). The center channel is the main speaker of the home theater system. It delivers 60% of a movie’s sound and all its dialogue. The sound is crystal clear. You will not miss a word.
The 2:
We have two (2) Klipsch Reference 12” 400W Powered Subwoofers – Black (Model: R-120SW). These 12″ subwoofers produce a sharp, deep bass that rocks our home cinema. In our 10 x 15 room, we only need one subwoofer. But we were inspired by the words of Jay Z, “You know what’s better than one subwoofer? Two subwoofers! Okay…Jay Z said “You know what’s better than one billionaire? Two billionaires! But you get the point and I did say “inspired by.” We have one subwoofer at the front of the room and the other placed at the back of the room. What else can we say but these subs rock.
We are over the moon happy with our current 7.2 Klipsch Reference speaker setup. We plan to expand to a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos setup in the future. We hope to obtain four of the Klipsch Reference Dolby Atmos Speakers (Model RP-140SA).
The Dolby Atmos experience is a huge part of the sound feature in retail theaters. We want the same sound experience in our home cinema. These Dolby Atmos speakers are part of the Reference Premiere line. They bounce sound off the ceiling for a life-like sound experience. They are simple to install and do not require any holes in the ceiling. However our current 7.2 sound is overwhelming the room because of its small size. We are saving our nickels and dimes for the day we move. As soon as we relocate, we are adding Dolby Atmos to create a 7.2.4 surround sound speaker system to make our home cinema the shit! We cannot wait for that day!
The Klipsch website says, “You can buy happiness – it’s copper and black!” When it comes to home cinema sound, that’s the truth. Our happiness increases every time we walk pass or enter the room. Money can’t buy you love but it can buy you fantastic speakers. We highly recommend all things Klipsch!
