The Golden Globes was first, the Critics’ Choice Awards was second, and the SAG awards are up next – third in the line-up of the award shows. As movie and television geeks, we love award show season and look forward to it every year.
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards will be broadcasted live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 19, 2020 on TNT and TBS at 8:00 PM EST/5:00 PM PST. The Screen Actors Guild awards are unique as they only recognize actors and actresses and not the crew behind the scenes. SAG awards are selected for actors/actresses by actors/actresses.
The SAG awards are selected by members of SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) an entertainment union. Voting is conducted by nomination committee for film and television categories. All SAF-AFTRA members are eligible to vote on the final nominations.
As of this post, a 2020 SAG show host has not been selected. We find that interesting because today is January 9th and the show airs on January 19th. The SAG awards executives needed to have the host locked and loaded before the end of October. Get it together SAG executives!
Home theater and blu-ray fans can watch the red carpet events on E! or live stream on sagaawards.org at 5:30 PM EST. Similar to other award shows this season we created a nominee list with links to overview, casting, and trailer information for all the SAG nominees. We’ve done the work, so you don’t have to. You’re Welcome!
